Introducing the MidSummer’s Night Traveler

MidSummer's Night Sewing Pattern

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited today to share with you my new pattern the MidSummer’s Night Traveler! She has been described by my testers as “big, bold, & beautiful”, and I kind of agree with this description…do you?

The MidSummer’s Night Traveler is rated as an Intermediate level pattern (as there are a few tricky bits), if you feel you are up for a challenge, you could definitely give this one a go 😉

If you are in need of an overnight bag, weekender bag, diaper bag, gym bag, or just love a big ‘ole honking purse? Then the MidSummer’s Night Traveler is the bag for you!

The MidSummer’s Night Traveler has a stylish feminine crescent shape that can hold it all. The zippered main closure protects the roomy interior – complete with large zippered pocket, a full width elasticised slip pocket, and key fob. To top it all off, the MidSummer’s Night Traveler does have a detachable cross body strap to make life even easier.

The finished size of The MidSummer’s Night Traveler  measures approximately 20″ at its widest point x 15″tall x 5” deep (50.8cm x 38cm x 14cm). This bag has been designed to be made using leather/faux leather/vinyl accents, however other fabric types (eg. Quilting Cotton, or another woven fabric) can be used instead.

What are the requirements for the MidSummer’s Night Traveler?  Well keep reading my friend…

But now let’s get to the fun part, looking at all the pretty tester’s bags!

Charlotte from Les envies de Charlotte made this gorgeous version, in fact, as you would have noticed, Charlotte’s bag has actually be used on the pattern cover! I just love Charlotte’s choice of fabric and colour scheme (isn’t that red vinyl divine?!) – it has created a stunning bag 🙂

Jane from S’more House Designs created this stunning version!  She has paired the beautiful “true love” fabric with denim rather than leather/faux leather/vinyl here and I think the combination is a match made in heaven!
Jane said, “I LOVE LOVE LOVE how big she is. Especially since I made her at a retreat, I was able to fit so so so much in her, and carry it all comfortably!”

Liz from Bitter Candy made this fabulous version.  I love how perfect the colour tones of the vinyl are with the fabric, a perfect match!  I also love that Liz has decided to show you how big this bag is with not one but two size comparison photos 😉

Toni made this beautiful version!  Just look at that perfect patten matching on the zip panel…and that fabric!  Swoon 🙂
Toni said, “I love my finished bag…I thought it was a great pattern and loved the size [of the bag]”.

Margareth made this stunning version! I love the colours and textures in the fabric on this version, it’s a perfect match for the pebble effect on the accent.  I’m truly in love with this bag!

Jacquie from Pebble Lane Studio made this lovely version. I love this leather and fabric combination – it’s just perfect 🙂

Rose from Sew Spoolish created this stunning version, her work on this bag is impeccable. Rose said, “I loved turning [the bag] through the pocket!! great idea!!! [It is an] Excellent bag”.

Susan made this lovely version!  I think red and tan are such a lovely colour combination don’t you?!
Susan said “I really like the size of this one!”.

I hope some of the tester bags have given you some inspiration for your own MidSummer’s Night Traveler!
