The Window Shopper {pattern by MrsH}

Hi Everyone!

A few weeks ago I talked a little bit about the Bag of the Month Club when I made Betz White’s backgammon bag.  Well its February now, so today I want to talk about the February Bag – The Window Shopper!  This bag was designed by my lovely friend Samantha (Mrs H), and I was lucky enough to be on the testing team for this great bag, so I actually made this bag over new year, and I’m so excited to share it with you now!

I made this bag with a special someone in mind as I knew I would gift it to her, so I chose the fabrics really carefully, and I hope that she likes my choices 🙂

I used Echino fabric as the main print and paired it with a light grey homespun. The Window Shopper has a front pleated pocket in the pattern, but I chose to leave this off as I didn’t want to disrupt or disturb the beautiful print.

I love all the hardware that is required for this bag! I love the grommet handles and that this bag has a removable cross body strap.  All the beautiful hardware you see on this bag is from one of my favourite (alright my all time favourite) Australian stores – Handbag Hardware Australia!  Kylie has an amazing range of hardware, great customer service and is really fast to fill your order 🙂

The pictures above are of the back of the bag, (which you could easily use as the front if you chose).  As you can see there is a HUGE slip pocket, I have added some black piping to the top of it as a little extra somthin’ somethin’ 😉

I found it hard to photograph the inside of the bag, (as I usually do), but as you can see there are PLENTY of pockets in there!  I made the lining using a fabric from the “What A Gem” range, another I hope the gift recipient likes 🙂

threeThe thing I really like about the recessed zip here is Samantha has added a little ribbon at the open end of the zip, so you have something to grab onto when opening your bag, and lucky me I had a grey chevron one hiding in my stash that matched the grey on this bag perfectly!
Can you see that cute little metal zip end?  That one is from Handbag Hardware Australia as well 😉

This is a BIG bag, but I love the size!  I also found the pattern easy to follow, the scariest part of the bag construction was cutting into a finished bag to attach the grommet handles, but I got over the fear and the end result is great!

Are you part of the Bag of the Month Club?  Will you be making a Window Shopper?
